Hey fellow Astroprinters!
I noticed after the update there were a couple of major issues with the camera function of our Astroboxes.
I am using Astroprint version 9.2,CTC Printer, Pi3, Logitech webcam.
First off i noticed when selecting video encoder format and saving the selection it did not infact remember the setting upon next boot (this bug has already been noted i believe).
Second after the update the Astrobox would fall off line and when i finally got it to come back it was asking me if i would like to setup again as if it was not remembering my previous settings. The only way for me to come back from this was to Reset or Reimage the sdcard or existing Astroprint image.
I then realised every time this issue had occurred the webcam was attached and in use. I was about ready to throw the towel in as the fails prints from dropping out half way through and freezing my printer were starting to cost me time and money…HOWEVER! I decided it had to be something about the camera function in software, so i disconnected the webcam altogether and have been printing happily ever since bug free…just no camera.
I thought i’d post up my finding thus far in my own little situation here, i hope the Astroprint guys can sort the camera issues out in future updates…until then i am happy to at least once again have stable remote printing, but definitely looking forward to when the camera functions as it should
