Have you ever managed to map a port on your router so that you can access the AstroBox UI directly from outside the network? I would like to be able to have full control of the printer from anywhere! Is that possible? Got any tips to try?
All good. A little port forwarding in Airport Utility (used port 80 for web) and I can log into the AstroBox from out in the world.
I’m using VPN to access anything on my home network from away. This is easy to do with a proper router, and sometimes doesn’t even require custom firmware. You can also run a VPN server on another computer, a NAS or your raspberry pi(s). No port forwarding to muck with for each device you want to access from the outside.
