I’ve restored the Astrobox multiple times, and when I click on my Connnected Devices, I see my printers but when I click on the Launch button, it never connects to the printer. This is a recent issue and I’ve changed nothing. It’s doing this on all 6 of my printers. Any ideas?
The launch button simply tries to open a browser window using the last known local IP address for the box. There are two possible causes for this:
-
The computer where you click launch is not on the same network as the box.
-
The box is reporting a wrong or old IP address that it no longer has
I confirmed the IP address is correct by looking in my router settings.
Are you on the local WiFi when you hit the “Launch” button and try to access the Astrobox?
Do you see a astrobox hotspot?
Can you ping xxx.xx.xxx.xx
(the astrobox) and see if the IP actually pings you back?
What previous setup worked fine? (astrobox version, etc…)
I just restored it again and same issue. I’m using Raspberry Pi 3 & I’m on the latest version of Astroprint.
Nope, it’s not letting me ping it. I know it’s the right IP too. This is a screenshot from my router settings:
Here is my attempt to ping it:
Ok…
Destination host unreachable means that there is no route to the Astrobox.
Either it is on a different subnet and the router in-between does not know how to route it there, or it is physically on the same network but with a different subnet mask.
Unfortunately, I don’t really have a clear answer to this…
It sounds more like a local network issue than a AstroBox issue…
Ok, I’m going to try and roll back my routers firmware. Thank you!
Typically astrobox doesnt show up as the printer in the router setup. I suspect you have the wrong IP address.
I suggest using the router to assign a known IP to the astrobox based on its hardware address.
I renamed it to the printer.
