Odd extruder temp reset

This has only happened to me twice and I didn’t report it the first time because I just assumed it was user error or some odd glitch, but now that I have had a second occurrence I thought I would at least put it up on the forum.

Last night I went to print something…everything seemed fine, but early on in the print the extruder temp went to zero.
This was not a loss of heat, but the actual set point changed. Needless to say the printer Jammed nicely as there was not a heater fault and it kept trying to feed filament to a too cold head.

I reprinted the same G-Code (didn’t re-slice) (I think I resent it from the online page though my understanding is that if it had already been sent to the astrobox it would not resend it but use the locally cached copy) and no problem…just odd…maybe a firmware bug, maybe a comm failure, but since there was no error generated it is hard to say where the problem was.

Happened to me twice today with v0.92… no idea what’s happening.

Just happened to me for the second time, two different models. This second time I managed to catch it before it just went and did its thing without temperature: I was able to reset the temperature of the extruder back to 210°C and it proceeded as normal.

Not entirely sure what’s going on, but some insight would be greatly appreciated.

We don’t know either. I has never happened to us with our printers.

The best way to catch this is to make is happen while the device is capturing serial logs and then send those to us.

It can also be a firmware or lack of proper power at the printer.

This has always been a very intermittent thing with me. I will start running with the serial logs enabled just in case it happens again.

For grins I changed the UBB cable a while back and so far the temp drop hasn’t happened.

I had a sorta similar thing where the printer just stopped mid print…Astroprint acted like it had completed the job but it was only half way done, and I don’t recall for sure but I do not think it actually sent the print complete email so it seemed more like it reset without notice…reprinting it worked fine…this is what prompted the cable change…I guess time will tell…

For the record I have a Repetier firmware based home brew delta printer.
