Raspicam still not working & CTC Z-Axis not responding

Hi guys,

i updated to 0.10 and since then i only had Problems.

With the new version i can’t controll the Z-Axis on my CTC Printer anymore (worked flawless before).

The Raspicam worked on the older Versions. In 0.10 it’s only detected with “sudo modprobe bcm2835-v4l2”

Running on Berry 3 with Raspicam v2.1

Any ideas?

What older version did you have that worked well?

e.g. with 9.2 it worked out of the box

really odd, I know there were some big changes in the .9 series but the .10 seemed more evolutionary ,however I do know that there were some camera specific changes so it is possible that is the problem.

Have you tried doing a fresh install of .10 using the disk image instead of an update?

Not saying you should do this though doing a fresh setup is pretty simple…hopefully one of the astroprint guys can help you actually figure out the problem, (that is good for you and also for them) but I have seen the updates go a bit off and found a fresh install sometimes fixes mystery problems.

My first impression was the same. Unfortunately now it seams otherwise.

Yeah i already tried a fresh install and the results are the same :frowning:

Now i’m desperately looking for an old image like 9.6 or so. No luck so far.

I have a 9.2 image, though I am not sure about the coolness of distributing it…

I know the developer has made older images available in the past so maybe they can do that
with the latest .9…

Actually if they read this I would suggest they keep at least the most recent previous image available when they make a new release…this way people in your shoes can grab it to be sure the problem they are having is really in the new version compared to the older one. Of course by the same token I guess we as users could keep images or make them before doing an update.

0.10(1) is available and fixes some things that might be what’s affecting you. Please update, reboot to apply the missing driver problem.

Let me know how it goes

Hi Daniel,

just fired it up. Unfortunatly both problems still persist.

my bad! forgot to activate the camera in raspi-config again. So the camera does work but the picture is flipped.

The Problem with the Z-Axis still persists. But i noticed the the homing does work.

Could you send logs to us so we can see what might be causing the z-axis problem ?

logs are on the way. Should i also open a ticket for a number?

Yeah, that helps track things

I just got astroprint up and running on a RP3 and I am also having an issue with the Z axis not responding. Everything else seems to work, just not manual Z axis control. It will even home the Z axis if it is not already in the home position. If there is a solution to this problem, it would help me out a lot. BTW, I have a Flashforge Creator Dual.

Same issue here. CTC Bizer No Manual Z-axis movement besides home with 0.10 (1)

We are aware of this problem and will be fixed on 0.10(2)
