Shutting down Astroprint with no connection?

Probably an obvious question, but one I can’t find an answer to…

Recently I have had issues with my Raspberry Pi 3 not maintaining it’s connection to my wifi. When I log on to check on Astroprint via the cloud, I get the sad monkey and a “No remote connections” message. Astroprint is obviously still running on the Pi, as it is still printing. Once the print has completed, I have to cycle the power on the box and printer and it connects again, but I get the warning message that I didn’t shut down Astroprint correctly.

Is there a way to safely shut down Astroprint under these circumstances?

Assuming you’re using the optional dongle. The box will emit its own hotspot when it detect a network loss.
