Still freezing while monitoring

Dear Astroprint team. You sold this device as a plug and play solution for non technical people to avoid other options like octoprint. But your device is causing me more problems than anything. Its extremely frustrating. I had some more minor issues along the way. But since firmware v9.9 I have had a major issue where my prints will freeze when I try to monitor through the dashboard or locally. It happens randomly and i’ve sent logs in while using 9.9. I was told to disable the camera until 10.0 came out. Well now 10.0(1) and its still doing it. You sold this product on being able to monitor your prints remotely. Now i’ve just lost 3 hours of printing and a buncha filament due to your firmware error. Please work harder to try and provide the smooth easy product you sold us on.

We are aware that some configurations are still having problems with the camera system in the 0.10 release. Contrary to what our tests showed, the improvements did not have the desired effect for all. In some instances errors are caused by problems in the driver and in others it’s our software.

In any case, stopping a print is always unacceptable and we have a major rework going on right now to decouple de camera manager from the rest of the system so that a driver failure wouldn’t stop the print.

Also our test processes are being reviewed and updated to try and give you a better quality product.

Sorry for the frustration that this is causing to some. We’re working as hard as we can to get the software moving forward instead of backwards.

Daniel I really appreciate that response. I was sold on the idea of a simple straight forward product. And when the astrobox works I just love it. But yes these issues really kill me. I don’t just print for fun. I have an etsy store with orders I’m trying to fill. Its difficult enough keeping up with emails from customers and trying to get orders out on time. To have prints fail due to the box and lose time resetting and fiddling is just extremely frustrating and not the experience I expected. I hope you can resolve the freezing issue soon. Little issues I can work around. But freezing makes me scared to even check on my print through the box, and that defeats the purpose of even having the box. Thanks for your response and your guys continued work.
