Remember, you still need an additional WiFi dongle with the Raspberry Pi 3 – did you get one?

Also, is it possible that you didn’t properly flash the image?

redone the sd card its all fired up now to login on monitor but no wifi i didnt get a dongle as it defies the idea of having built in wifi might as well brought a pi 1 or 2 how would i login with a keyboard as wwould it make sense to change the wifi settings in it like you would if using octoprint they used to do it in the read txt before putting it in the pi

@swampy:

From the link I posted above:

Why exactly do I need another WiFi dongle when the Raspberry Pi 3 has built in WiFi?

The built-in WiFi on the Raspberry Pi 3 cannot maintain a simultaneous network connection to your WiFi network and broadcast it’s own hotspot like we require on our Astroboxes — therefore, the built in Raspberry Pi 3 WiFi is not sufficient for our purposes at this time.

In order to circumvent this, you will need an additional WiFi dongle to make an Astrobox using a Raspberry Pi 3 board.

With that said, the built in Raspberry Pi 3 WiFi is still used — the need for the additional WiFi dongle is mainly to support hotspot functionality.

Not sure about your other question. Can you clarify?

Just connect Rpi 3 with wired connection, and than u can setup your integrated WiFi and entire your box easily without another WiFi dongle… after WiFi setup, u can disconnect wired connection.
