Up is down and down is up and... is it possible to View Video Locally?

Hello All, I literally just got my astropi configured and working. I have an issue and a question. The issue is that in the control section, when I try to move the Z axis of my printer, the up and down are reversed. + goes down and - goes up.

Next, the question: Is it possible to view video when connected to the astropi locally? The only way to view video that I’ve found is to connect through astroprint. Is it possible to view video when connected to the astropi through a local address?

@Alan_P all of the movements are in relation to the print nozzle. I’m guessing you have a printer where the printer starts with the bed at the top and then the bed moves downward as the print goes. We don’t currently have a way to invert the controls so it is best to think of it as the nozzle is moving up away from the bed than the bed moving down.

The print screen on the local device does show the camera feed but does not currently do live video. We do have plans to release live camera feeds in the future. For the camera you can set up a time lapse there or snap pics on demand.

Is this still true??? There is no fix or update to include inverted option? I feel if your running Sailfish Astroprint is the best way to go however besides the UI being responsive it’s light years away from Octoprint.

+1 on some more advanced settings here. I also have the inverted Z-axis on my Zeepro Zim and since the AstroBox UI is very beautiful, I would like to be able to think about direction of Z-axis normally. For me, it’s impossible to think of this control as moving the nozzle because I know it’s fixed and other software I’ve used works the same way (or has a invert z-axis setting) Thanks!

Same here on Wanhao D6. Z-axis is inverted. Is this fixed yet?

@Neil It’s not really inverted. The control are meant to move the head up and down. In cases where the head is fixed and it’s bed that moves, this might seem inverted because you think that you’re moving the bed.

We’re going to put a setting in the printer profile to help with this. Sorry it was missed. I have now added an issue to github so that it doesn’t get forgotten.

Understood. So in fairness to Astroprint when it says Z+ that is exactly what it’s doing, it’s increasing the Z gap, and vice versa
