WIFI connection fail after initial setup

hey guy,
i have a raspberry pi 3, and plugged in a official tested wifi dongle (can’t remember where i saw it, but it was an amazon link given by an official)
the pi generates a hotspot, and initial set up was very smooth, and the pi is sitting about 10-20ft away (with only one drywall in between, also tested 5ft direct line of sight, same situation) from my AP (unifi ac pro, 3*3 dual band AC), signal bar should be perfect.
and right after initial setup (before reboot), i was able to connect to astrobox via my main wifi, and website, everything is simply perfect.

however, as soon as i reboot the pi, it will simply NOT connect to wifi, it will NOT generate hotspot, it will NOT connect to my main wifi. using a LAN connection works, and i tried to factory reset it from the setting page, still, it will not change a thing. it will NOT generate a hotspot even after factory reset. only thing i can do is re-flash the microSD card and re-do everything again…

anyone knows what’s wrong?
thanks

@Gary:

Did you ever figure out a solution to this?

Honestly, I have no idea what the problem is…

If anything, my first theory would be to poke around in your router settings (mac address filtering etc…)

The other theory is that you may have RF interference nearby…

Not sure :disappointed:
