EasyArts Ares? Is it compatible?

Has anyone here heard of the EasyArts Ares? It is a Delta style printer that was real cheap, sorta, on Inidiegogo. It is driven by a Raspberry Pi running Octoprint. I’ve heard such good things about AstroPrint that I’d like to convert it, if that is straightforward enough. However, I lack the personal competence/confidence to dive in without a guide. Has anybody been successful with this?

Thanks!

@Bird2Brain:

Never heard of it.

Do you know what firmware the printer is running?

Astroprint is compatible with all Marlin and Sailfish (firmware) based 3D Printers - so, if the EasyArts Ares (strange name by the way :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:) is running either Marlin OR Sailfish, it should work fine.

As far as converting from Octoprint to AstroPrint – that’s a fairly straightforward process.

  1. Download the Raspberry Pi image for an AstroBox.

  2. Flash the SD card running OctoPrint with the image you downloaded.

  3. Go through the initial setup

If you run into trouble, just let me know and I’d be happy to guide you through it all. :grin:
